OMG
What am I going to wear?
How do I find them?
Where to buy Tango clothing?

Tango Clothing
Appointments Absolutely
Necessary
In Buenos Aires, many amazing places to buy tango clothing in San Telmo, in Palermo in Recoleta and at most Milongas. Sometimes you have to visit a studio in person.
Then one must an appointment to visit these studios, remembering you are in BsAs, not everything runs on standard time.
At these studios spaces can range from very intimate spaces in an apartment building to a large retail store. The staff at these spaces are usually bilingual and are very helpful and love showing you tango clothing. In my experience I have found bit of Spanish in BsAs, I find speaking or even attempting to speak a language goes a long way to creating cultural community and opens many doors.
Upon entering a studio or store, you will find a rack of ready made tango clothing including dresses, skirts and tops. Most of these places will do alterations at no charge. Now, The fun really begins. When you start looking at all the beautiful flowing fabrics offered in the studio then you start daydreaming up a new tango outfit, now that is magic. A new dress with a tail, a skirt with a short top. Tango clothing has so many possibilities, but only limited by your imagination and wallet.
ONEL CLOTHES
One of my favorites places is a lovely showroom out by Villa Crespo. An appointment is necessary, but then you get to meet Erika Urrutia Onel.
This is her story…

I graduated as a Fashion Designer 20 years ago in Chile, and I have been a professional tango dancer since 2010.
in 2015 I moved to Buenos Aires and decided to create my own clothing brand, so that I could join my both passions together: dress design and dancing.
In May 2015, Onel Clothes & Tango was born. First, it was only me, but soon after, more people were added, forming a team that has been fundamental to the exponential and overwhelming growth we have had.
Onel is a boutique located in Buenos Aires, where we design customized dresses for professional dancers and milongueras.
We have three different dresses collections: Milonga, Tango Pista, Tango Escenario.

CARLA CORDOBA
As mentioned earlier, at some Milonga there are racks of clothes to peruse.
At this one milonga, Sueno Portaneo, run by the amazing Julia Doynel, I met another wonderful tango clothing designer, Carla Cordoba.
Her clothes are easy to wear, effortless to dance in as Carla is also a tanguera and a beautiful dancer.
