We are back. MILONGAS have opened up in all parts of the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As for me, its almost 2 in the morning. I have spent my evening dancing tango. My feet are hurting, but my soul is so happy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Having asked a good friend to join me at my first Milonga, I  was a bit nervous, maybe even anxious. Mentioning this to my friend on the drive over to Lo de Celia on Humberto Prima y Entre Rios. YES. At the end of last month, it started up again. [Editors note: I was traveling in Mendoza]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Will we remember the embrace? Will we remember the rhythms? And OMG a cabeceo!!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Climbing the steps to the club on the second floor, hearing the music play, it was almost as if all the time had vanished. Noticing people. All dancing with masks. Possibly a familiar face, but not sure. Now just watching. Remembering the reason. Watching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The music starts. It&#8217;s a waltz. Watch the turning on the floor. Many embraces with many styles.  The room is filled with portenyos. Portenyos. Lots of men in suits.  Woman, well its an ongoing fashion show. Dresses, pantalons and skirts are all seen in the many shades of the rainbow, but mostly black. Tango is back  in the city of Buenos Aires in the country of Argentina. For 38 years, years I curated a contemporary art gallery, where I refined my skills and became a visual editor. Always with a camera or some picture-capturing device in tow [including much heavy equipment], I started my travel at approximately the same time, was introduced to tango about 12 years ago. VIsual storytelling begins with a moment. Some internal mechanism is triggered by a scene or event or movement and ...there's your photo. Other times, it\u2019s about a sliver of color or something else odd or ordinary that captures the eye. As I am now fluent in Spanish, it is my desire that my stories and photos reach the broader tango community and other travelers. Travelingtango offers translations into Spanish, Italian, and German. As to my personal info, I was born in New Jersey eventually, after living in New York, Boston, and San Francisco, most recently on San Juan Island in Washington state, I moved to Buenos Aires in January 2020. For 38 years, years I curated a contemporary art gallery, where I refined my skills and became a visual editor. Always with a camera or some picture-capturing device in tow [including much heavy equipment], I started my travel at approximately the same time, was introduced to tango about 12 years ago. VIsual storytelling begins with a moment. Some internal mechanism is triggered by a scene or event or movement and ...there's your photo. Other times, it\u2019s about a sliver of color or something else odd or ordinary that captures the eye. As I am now fluent in Spanish, it is my desire that my stories and photos reach the broader tango community and other travelers. Travelingtango offers translations into Spanish, Italian, and German.
