Where Do We Dance Tango?

In most years, we spend or summer time in Europe and our winters in Buenos Aires or somewhere warm. When in Buenos Aires, we love to participate in Tango.

When its’s cold in Buenos Aires we migrate to many northern European citie. Among our favorites is the city of Barcelona and we try to spend as much time as possible living there. We also have grown to love Porto, Portugal Istanbul, Turkey and Rovimj, Croatia. Each city offers a different spice and of course a different version of Tango.

In most of these cites, a milonga would feels similar because there are many types of tango dancers but there always is a large group of women sitting together and the men usually sit in pairs or solo. Wine or champagne is continally available at a makeshift bar. At some miongas you are encourage to change shoes in the bathroom, while at others the attitude is whatever works for you!

The variety of DJs and the musical selection of tango is immense with some Djs prefing th old masters and other playing cotemporary music that tango can be dance too.

This year, we explored and danced tango in other areas of Spain, such as Seville, Valencia, Cordoba, Granada and Valencia. These cities, all centrally located in sSpain are accessable by plane, train, bus or private car. Their locations make them a good jumping-off point for visiting the rest of Europe. These cites have active tango comunities and host marathons, festivals and encountros besides the weekly milonga.

This year, we are going to the Tango Amigos in May, Tango Postales in June, and then Berlin in July for an encuentro. We will be spending most of September in Turkey.

We attend many Encuentros, Marathons, Festivals, and many city milongas, as we love to be local and meet new and old tango friends.

This is genuinly remarkable that out tango world is so small

We have an extensive tango photo archive of all the places we have danced, including Encuentros, Marathons, Milongas, and Festivals in Argentina, France, Spain, Italy, Turkey, Jordan, Portugal, Poland, and the United States.
